The Sport Horse Vet was founded to do one kind of work properly: the careful, methodical investigation of lameness and performance problems in horses that are asked to do a job.
Sport horses are honest animals with subtle problems. They compensate, they cope, and they carry on long after something has started to hurt. Finding the cause takes an unhurried examination, a logical sequence of tests, and a willingness to say when the picture is not yet complete.
That is the standard every case here is held to — whether it is a four-figure orthopaedic workup or a set of vaccinations on a Tuesday morning.

What to expect
How a visit works
Appointments are booked by telephone so that the right amount of time can be set aside. A lameness workup is not a fifteen-minute job, and it is better to block out the morning than to rush the end of it.
- Before the visit
- A short conversation about the horse, the history and what you have noticed, so the visit starts from the right place.
- On the yard
- Examination, assessment and any diagnostics the case calls for. You are welcome to be there throughout and to ask as many questions as you like.
- Afterwards
- The findings explained in plain terms, a written plan where one is needed, and a clear answer on what happens next.
