Register Your Horse

Register your horse with the practice. It takes a few minutes and only needs doing once.

This form asks to join the practice, and we will email you to confirm. You are only registered with the practice once we have acknowledged it by email, which we do as soon as we can.

Ambulatory work is limited by how far there is to drive and how many hours are in the day, so every registration is read properly before it is accepted. It is the only way to be certain that everyone already on the books can still be reached when they need us.

Registering does not book a visit. Once you are registered, telephone 07494 295509 to arrange one — and anything urgent needs a phone call, not this form.

Insurance and previous vet

Insurance is a contract between you and your insurer. The practice is not party to it, and the account remains yours whatever the outcome of a claim.

Normal hours of business are between 9am and 5pm.

Out of hours and emergencies

We aim to provide an emergency service outside our normal working hours, 365 days a year. Although our Clinical Director, Stephanie Miller, aims to cover all equine emergencies personally, owing to the small scale of the practice there will be times when this isn’t possible. Accordingly, from time to time out-of-hours and/or emergency cover may be provided by Gillivervets. Gillivervets is a trading name of VetPartners Practices Limited, Company No. 10084952.

Emergency visits incur an out-of-hours surcharge in addition to the usual visit fee. We reserve the right to request part or full payment before attending an out-of-hours call.

If Gillivervets attend, you will be invoiced by The Sport Horse Vet Ltd in the usual way. In the interests of your equine, clinical records relating to your equine may be shared with Gillivervets, VetPartners Practices Limited, Company No. 10084952.
